Big White Envelope

Today was the day so many Scottish teenagers have been dreading...result day. Thousands of big white envelopes fell onto door mats and were quickly grabbed up by pupils eager but scared to find out how their exams had gone. Hands shaking they opened their envelope and scanned the page that confronted them. Proud parents looking over their shoulders trying to make sense of the jumble of letters as they either smiled at their achievements or looked sad at their failures. So yeah it might not have been quite as dramtic as that but it sure felt like it at the time! So after we had all waited on our post my friends and I headed out for cake and a coffee to celebrate/ drown our sorrows depending on what we had received that morning.
My results were slightly better than expected but we shall leave it at that and forget about the whole horrible ordeal.

The past couple of days for me have been spent celebrating my seventeenth birthday. Tuesday was my actual birthday and I just spent the day with my family and boyfriend and was given lots of lovely presents...including a car! I was so excited and it was such a huge surprise and I honestly can't wait to start driving now! I still can't stop smiling and I feel like the luckiest girl ever!
Today was spent with friends and we just had a garden party on the decking at my house. Again I received lots of lovely presents and had such a nice time on the one day the sun decided to come out. I spent ages baking and making sandwiches definitely worth it though to see my greedy lovely friends stuff their faces. So here are just a few pictures to share with you.

Summer holidays are definitely a test to see a) how imaginative you are and b) how exciting your life is. So with that in mind I have discovered that I am neither imaginative or someone who leads an exciting life. Today I did attempt to be a little imaginative though...well actually I'm just trying really hard to keep myself busy. So after buying a bunch of ingredients I have spent all day making a Hawaiian cake and chocolate caramel slices. Sounds good right? Seriously that is another thing about the summer holidays they make you fat! I can't be the only person who just sits and eat when they get bored and I've been working quite a lot ( I work in a cake shop) and they keep giving me free cakes! So maybe to occupy the rest of my time I should be doing something active to balance out the eating...maybe.

Isn't this summer just great? Who needs sunshine when you can have lots of rain and flood warnings? Can you tell that the weather is getting me down? When you live where I live horrible weather means spending the day inside playing monopoly (yep seriously that is what I am doing with my summer holidays) so its understandable that I wouldn't mind a bit of good weather coming my way. Tonight however I am going for a meal with family and friends so the thought of food is keeping me going at the moment.

We're all going on a summer holiday...

So my excuse for the delay in posting this time is an eastern Mediterranean cruise. Pretty good excuse eh? So I just returned from a week cruising the med in sweltering heat and sunshine (no complaints here) only to return to wind and rain in the UK and stories of storms.
As I have little faith in British weather I decided to attempt to wear all my summer clothes in one week because knowing Scotland it was going to be my only chance...I was pretty successful. So here are a few pictures of my holidays! Anyone else been/ going anywhere?

Yet again I have been such a bad blogger! This time however I am armed with excuses. The main one being school. I am on my second week back and already it has been hectic and stressful. Also everything just seems to be happening at once, last week I was at a Coldplay concert (amazing) and tomorrow my brother is carrying the Olympic torch all very exciting.
However there is one thing that isn't occupying me at the moment and that is my boyfriend. Yes I have become second best...to football. Even when I convince him to switch the T.V off I get a pleading look every half an hour begging me to let him check the score. All I can say is I can not wait until this year of sport is over.
One last thing this outfit came to under £30 which is quite impressive for me considering I usually don't think twice about spending £30 on the one item.
